Roger
Q Beck is an attorney and shareholder with
FizerBeck, practicing estate planning, taxation
and probate law. He is Board Certified in
Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas
Board of Legal Specialization.
Roger is
an active member of the State Bar of Texas,
where he has served as the Editor of the
Probate Section of the Real Estate, Probate
and Trust Law Reporter, as a member
of the Inheritance Tax Committee and as
a contributing author to the Texas Estate
Administration Volume of the State Bar of
Texas. He is also a member of the College
of State Bar of Texas, a member of the Tax
Section of the State Bar of Texas, and is
an active member of the American Bar Association
as a member of the Sections on Taxation,
and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law
of the American Bar Association. Further,
he is a member of the Probate and the Tax
Law Sections of the Houston Bar Association,
and is a frequent speaker at professional
meetings and conferences. Roger is also
a former Adjunct Professor of Law at the
University of Houston Law Center.
Roger is
a Fellow of the: American College of Trust
and Estate Counsel; American Bar Foundation;
Texas Bar Foundation; and the Houston Bar
Foundation.
Roger received
his B.B.A. from Southern Methodist University
in 1970, and his J.D. from Southern Methodist
University in 1974 (Order of the Coif, Phi
Delta Phi, Law Review and Barristers). Roger
began his legal career at Fulbright &
Jaworski, L.L.P. upon graduation from law
school and, in 1979, Roger, Don Fizer and
Ron Webster formed what is now FizerBeck.
